NTM 281: Healing from miscarriage with Shelley Clarke and Katie Parker
10, Nov, 2020
In this week’s episode we are joined by two of the most soulful women you will ever meet, who courageously share with us some of the most intimate moments of their lives; their miscarriages. We asked Shelley and Katie onto this podcast to share their stories because in our culture and experience of miscarriage they are quite unique, if not radical, in their honouring of loss and healing.
In honour of their stories and sharing we have chosen to make this a single two-hour podcast episode that we hope offers insight, healing and nourishment to your heart. Our thoughts are with every woman who has walked this path and we send a prayer of love for each experience of baby loss.
Please note the stories shared should not be considered as medical advice in any way. We advise contacting your own medical professional for guidance.
Shelley Clarke lives in Adelaide with her husband, three children and 6 month old puppy! She works as a Physiotherapist and CranioSacral Therapist in her clinic in Seacliff. She is also an Aware Parenting and Hand in Hand parenting instructor and loves supporting parents through in-person and online workshops. She is passionate about helping families navigate the everyday challenges of life. Shelley brings a warmth and understanding to everything she does and loves supporting others to know themselves more deeply.
Katie Parker is a social worker, postpartum doula, parent mentor and mum of two. She supports women during pregnancy, postpartum and beyond to honour themselves in motherhood. She provides both online and in-person pregnancy and postpartum care, perinatal counselling, group support, women’s circles, and is now running a small group business mentoring program. Katie also supports parents to navigate the toddler and pre-schooler years with a focus on connection, holding space for emotions and setting boundaries with love. She is passionate about reparenting and loves working with mothers who are willing to ‘do the work’ and heal their childhood stories.
