“I think they said something to me on the weekend about me. They said mum, it’s very funny that you’re a yogi because you’re so calm but you’re so wild. And isn’t that the feminine though? This is what we need. And this is what we’re trying to teach them, that’s feminine. We’re chaotic women. Around the cycle we can go into ‘I just want to stay home in bed, just chill and just you know, read a book and eat chocolate…. to I just want to build an empire and take on the world!’ And I think that’s the feminine. Lauren is a passionate businesswoman, yoga teacher and business mentor who has created and grown four thriving yoga communities across Australia. She is also the creator of The Love Tank – an online community that helps women to embrace self-love, seize opportunities and create the life they truly desire.
Lauren’s energy and enthusiasm for life are contagious and she has a unique talent for helping others knock down the barriers that are holding them back.

Lauren discovered yoga whilst she was running a full-time PR company in Melbourne and within months of completing her teacher training was teaching full time. As a mother of two, she understands life’s challenges of finding time for herself and is passionate about assisting others with finding that balance.

Lauren explains to us the history of yoga and how it was the one discipline that saved her from her frantic corporate career and personal and mental health concerns. She shares how yoga taught her to love herself and find her true self.
Lauren shares her meaning of self-love comes from one of the 10 guidelines of yoga – ahisma.
Ahimsa is an important spiritual doctrine shared by Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. It literally means ‘non-injury’ and ‘non-killing’. It implies the total avoidance of harming of any kind of living creatures not only by deeds, but also by words and in thoughts.
The practice of ahisma allows everyone to live their own path rather than try to point out or make suggestions. Helping other people is not ahisma. You can hold space, love and support. But more importantly shine your own light and embody self-love.
Lauren discusses the power of discipline which is known as ‘tapas’ in sanskrit and the importance of rituals and to make time every day to flirt with discovering YOU and to trust the journey.
Life is always teaching us, we need to regularly show up. Keep polishing it and make time to master every hour and polish it.
