This Week In Wellness “Independent” Australian researchers Nutrition Research Australia (NRAUS) are asking people to #rethinkthepink suggesting that pink salts contain low levels of nutrients and potentially harmful levels of heavy metals.
The study looked at 31 samples of pink salts commercially available in Australia and suggested that the contents were unpredictable and inconsistent in nature. The level of nutrients in the pink salt varied widely with some containing no iron and others 17mg of iron per 100g and some containing 53mg of calcium whilst others contained 574mg.
