This week is super special as not only is it the Christmas festive season, but it’s also our 50th episode so to celebrate this occasion, we’ve got a special guest featuring on the show today, all the way from the North Pole in Alaska!
Erin Buchanan is a 911 Dispatch Officer for the State Troopers, and in her words is “literally down the road from Santa Claus’s House” which is pretty hard to fathom for us here in Australia, given we’re currently sweltering in our very hot Aussie Summer.
Erin shares with us what it’s like to work as a shift worker in one of the most remote places in the world, including how she deals with the 24 hours of daylight during Summer, along with when there are only 3 hours of daylight during the winter-time. And yes, that was not a typo – 24 hours of daylight down to just 3!
