In this episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim Morrison sits down with Harmony Rutledge, CEO of Anna’s Wild Yam Cream, for a deeply inspiring conversation about women’s health, natural living, business and self-love. Harmony shares her unique upbringing within the Hare Krishna community and how her father’s work in organic sprouts and health food shaped her lifelong connection to natural health, conscious living and sustainability. She also opens up about taking over the 30 year old Anna’s brand in 2020, right in the middle of COVID, and the extraordinary challenges that followed. Together, Kim and Harmony explore the philosophy behind Anna’s, the role of wild yam and chaste tree, and why supporting women’s wellbeing requires looking beyond quick fixes to consider the whole person, including lifestyle, nourishment, mindset and self-care.
Harmony and Kim also explore what self-love really means and how small daily rituals can become powerful acts of kindness towards ourselves. The conversation touches on hormonal changes, menopause, natural approaches to women’s health, the importance of community and leading by example, as well as Anna’s upcoming Bloom Through Every Stage event in Melbourne on October 18th. To finish, Harmony shares some powerful words of wisdom about resilience, failure and continuing forward with confidence. A beautiful reminder that we can keep moving, growing and blooming through every stage of life.
About Harmony
Harmony Rutledge is the CEO of ANNA’S. With over 30 years immersed in the natural health
industry, she took over ANNA’S in 2020 with a vision to make ANNA’S a globally recognised
women’s wellness brand. Passionate about women’s health and holistic wellbeing, Harmony
leads a dynamic all-female team dedicated to supporting women through every stage of life
with trusted products, education and community.
Harmony was raised in the Hare Krishna community, which shaped her values around
compassion, conscious living and doing business with heart. A lifelong vegetarian, Harmony
has always embraced a natural approach to health. Natural medicine, homeopathy, nourishing food, movement and mindfulness have shaped both her personal life and her approach to leadership. Yoga, Pilates, meditation and time in nature continue to be an important part of her everyday life.
As a mother of two, Harmony chose home births for both of her children and understands
firsthand the many seasons of a woman’s health journey. She believes in caring for the whole
person and leading with compassion, curiosity and kindness.
In 2023, ANNA’S Wild Yam Cream was on pre-order for nine months after demand skyrocketed, with women from around the world willing to wait for it to come back in stock.
ANNA’S has now supported more than one million women and is trusted in over 55 countries.
Her definition of Self Love is: Choosing to treat ourselves with the same kindness and compassion that you give to everyone else. Listening to your body, honouring your needs, trusting your intuition, without guilt. And not being perfect. Putting yourself first when you need to, that is not selfish. If we don’t do that, we can’t show up for the ones that need us and ultimately that is also very important.
Her favourite quote is from: Mahatma Gandhi “Be the change you wish to see in the world”
Harmony’s second quote “She was unstoppable, not because she didn’t have failures or doubts, but because she continued on despite them”.

Quotes:
I had an incredible, alternative upbringing and one that I am so incredibly grateful for.
I was very fortunate to have an incredible upbringing with family, organics and with natural lifestyle and listening to the body.
What can we change and what can we control in our environment and doing the bits that we can do to make that difference.
I think it is just really a matter of focussing on what we can do and making those small little steps but just making that part of our lifestyle.
I really live and breathe what I aspire to do, and that is right for me.
Lead by example, do the things that feel right for you and try not to come from that place of judgement.
I think there is that big disconnect from the food we are eating.
We don’t listen enough to our bodies.
Let’s listen to these messages, instead of ignoring them or pushing them aside.
Be grateful and make some changes so you really are flourishing and blooming into the best version of yourself.
Community and that connection is so important to me.
My mission and my vision really when I took on the brand in 2020 was to make Anna’s available to more women all over the world, which we have done.
I think that is how our incredible brand has sustained 30 years is because of that ripple effect. It is that one woman’s experience and another woman’s experience and the sharing and the connection and the communication that I think is so incredibly beautiful and something that I am so grateful for.
Do your research and find what works best for you.
It is an incredibly gentle, natural product that works in harmony with your body.
It is so important to understand our bodies.
I think it is so important love and nurture this incredible body we have. It is an honour to age.
It is that reset, acknowledgement to the body, the gratitude, the love and thank you for the day and now it is time to just go into that rest.
Be grateful for our beautiful bodies.
